2025.07.11 Deregulated nutrient response in ttntv cardiomyopathy can be repaired via Erk inhibition for cardioprotective effects
Journal of Molecular and Cellular Cardiology
Genetic screens in adult zebrafish rapidly identify modifiers of TTNtv DCM for mechanism-based therapy. Early TTNtv DCM shows ERK overactivation and deregulated nutrient signaling as key pathological events. Inhibiting erk1, mek1 or ppp1r10 protects the heart by repairing ERK and nutrient signaling in TTNtv DCM.

2025.07.03 Cardiac Myocyte Cytosolic Self-DNA Contributes to the Pathogenesis of Desmoplakin-Cardiomyopathy
JCI Insight
The release of mitochondrial and nuclear DNA into the cytosol and subsequent activation of DNA damage response (DDR) pathway is pathogenic in desmoplakin cardiomyopathy. Genetic blockade of CGAS prolonged survival, improved cardiac function, reduced cell death, and attenuated fibrosis.
